Cutsforth Park on Willow Creek
Overlooking the Willow Creek Reservoir, less than three miles from Heppner, sits the reservoir campground maintained by the local park district. Camping facilities available. Located 22 miles southeast of Heppner on Willow Creek Road, also known as “Blue Mountain Scenic Byway." Orville Cutsforth donated the land for this park. The park has full and partial RV hookups, as well as tent sites, restrooms with showers, stocked fishing pond, horseshoe pits, day-use area for picnics and family reunions a gazebo, and Darcy Coil 4-H Building, and a playground for the kids. Horse pens are available to rent. Trails are adjacent on the Umatilla National Forest for trail rides. This park is also a winter staging area for snowmobilers.
Anson Wright Park
The park is 26 miles southwest of Heppner on Highway 207. In 1967, the Wright Family donated the land as a memorial to Anson Wright. This park has full and partial RV hookups, as well as tent sites, restrooms with showers, stocked fishing pond, horseshoe pits, day-use area for picnics and family reunions, and a playground for kids.
Bull Prairie Lake Campground
If you’re looking for a great recreational experience and want some relaxation by a lake, Bull Prairie is the place to go. Bull Prairie Lake Campground offers fishing and camping facilities. A Forest Service-managed park, Bull Prairie is 32 miles south of Heppner on Highway 207. The campground has 26 units, each containing a parking pad, table and fireplace. Water is available, but there are no electrical hookups. There is a $4.00 overnight fee per unit. There is a boat launching area (no motors allowed), large picnic grounds and a trailer dump station (no hookup) that carries a $2.00 charge. Forest Service: 541-676-9187.
Penland Lake Campground
Eight miles south of Cutsforth Park is Penland Lake. Enjoy some peace and quiet at Penland Lake, while trout fishing from your boat or the bank. Managed by the Forest Service. Facilities at the lake include developed picnic grounds, boat launching area, and a large parking lot where limited overnight parking is allowed. There are no hookups and no water available. Small electric motors are permitted on the lake.

Willow Creek Water Park
Located at 433 Riverside Ave., the Willow Creek Water Park includes both an outdoor swimming pool and a therapy pool. The swimming pool is open from late May until early September. Individual and family season passes are available. The therapy pool is open year round by appointment. Don Baxter Skate Park
The world-class Don Baxter Skate Park offers approximately 10,000 square feet of concrete skating excitement and pleasure. A good mix of street stuff, a full pipe, and various bowls keeps skaters of all levels interested. The park is also fully accessible and designed so that everyone can utilize its special features. Adjacent to the skate park is the Trevor Fox Memorial Children’s Park.
Trevor Fox Memorial Children’s Park
Trees, shrubs and flowers are found throughout the park that contribute to the experience and give children hands-on play with the natural world. Wildlife, including butterflies, birds and an occasional bunny add to the level of interest and education of this special place.
The Columbia River Heritage Trail
Hike the Columbia River Heritage Trail that runs from the west end of Morrow County to the City of Umatilla. This trail is still in development and some sections are not yet well marked. A good section to hike is from the Irrigon Marina west to the Umatilla Wildlife Refuge. This section is well used and travels along the river for several miles. The path is fairly level most of the way, but the surface is sand and gravel, so plan accordingly.
Irrigon Marina Park
The Irrigon Marina Park, located at the end of NE Tenth St. along the river, is a beautiful, family-oriented park that offers boating from the public access boat ramp, marina facilities, picnicking, fishing and playground activities in a tranquil, scenic riverside setting. It is the site of the annual Irrigon Watermelon Festival, One Plug Derby fishing tournament and co-host to summertime "Music in The Park" performances.
